Alumni Referral or Child of Alumni
Students related to Montreat graduates—whether directly or through referral—can access a $4,000 scholarship, distributed as $1,000 each year for four years.
Athletic Scholarships
High-achieving athletes demonstrating both strong performance and character may receive athletic scholarships. Award amounts depend on team requirements and coach evaluations, and these scholarships cannot be combined with Merit Scholarships.
Church-Matching Grant
The Montreat College Church-Matching Grant provides up to $1,000 annually from a student’s affiliated church, supporting educational goals through institutional matching contributions.
COMPASS Scholarship
Completing the COMPASS summer academic program entitles students to a $2,000 scholarship spread across four years.
Cybersecurity Scholarship
Prospective and transfer students admitted to the Cybersecurity Program can secure an $8,000 scholarship, allocated at $2,000 per year throughout their studies. Applications require specific documentation sent to admissions.
- Essay: Address a recent cyber incident, analyzing both effective responses and areas needing improvement, supported by credible references in APA style. Explain your motivation for choosing Montreat’s Cybersecurity major, highlight relevant skills and values, discuss ethical considerations in cybersecurity, and describe how your spiritual gifts influence your academic journey.
- Two recommendation letters—one focused on character, another on academics—are required. Honors applicants may fulfill this requirement through relevant honors recommendations.
Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) Scholarship
Members of the EPC congregation are eligible for a $10,000 scholarship, paid at $2,500 annually over four years.
Homeschool Scholarship
First-generation homeschooled students may receive up to $10,000 in scholarship funding, with $2,500 awarded each year for four years.
Honors Scholarship
Honors Program participants gain access to competitive scholarships, including select full-tuition awards based on merit.
Golden LEAF Scholarship
North Carolina residents meeting financial criteria can obtain a $14,000 scholarship, equivalent to $3,500 yearly for four years.
Korean Christian Heritage Scholarship
Students of Korean ancestry or with Korean missionary lineage may qualify for a $52,800 scholarship, or $13,200 annually for four years.
MC Hope Scholarship
Supported by community donors, this fund reduces tuition expenses via need-based and academic awards for eligible undergraduates.
Merit Scholarships
Academic excellence—reflected in GPA and standardized test results—determines eligibility for merit-based scholarships at Montreat College.
Minister’s Child Scholarship
Children of ordained ministers or active clergy can receive $4,000 annually ($1,000 per year for four years).
Music Scholarships

NCASFAA Benefiting Students Scholarship
Both high school seniors and current students may access up to $2,000 through the NC Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.
North Carolina Need-Based Scholarship
Eligible North Carolina residents can apply for this need-based aid, assessed via FAFSA documentation.
NSCA Criminal Justice Scholarship
Students pursuing Criminal Justice may receive up to $8,000 ($2,000 annually) via the NC Sheriff’s Association partnership.
Outdoor Recreation Studies Scholarship
Incoming majors in Outdoor Recreation Studies can earn $2,000 during their first year ($1,000 per semester).
Psychology Research Scholarship

STEM Research Scholarship
