Rachel Toone: Nia, how did you end up at Montreat?
Nia: My brother Ahmad used to run track and field here. Our family knew the coaches well, so I thought, "Since Ahmad runs track, maybe I can run track and earn a scholarship." I received a track scholarship, and now I'm nearing graduation.
Rachel Toone: You're doing it, Nia! You'll graduate soon.
Nia: >I'm trusting God's plan for my next steps. After graduating, I might take a break from school to focus on spiritual growth—whether that means grad school or something else entirely.
Rachel Toone: What has God taught you at Montreat?
Nia: >When I felt most broken, I learned I couldn't escape God—I had to draw closer. Even after repeated failures, His invitation to return remains constant. This reshaped my entire relationship with Him.
Rachel Toone: >That's profound. You've also grown in leadership through small groups and Bible studies. How has that impacted you?
Nia: >Leading Bible studies challenged me beyond my comfort zone, but feeling called to serve deepened my connection with Christ. My faith feels renewed and authentic now.
Rachel Toone: >What's your advice for incoming students?
Nia: >Join a Bible study! It could transform your life—plus, there's free food. Step outside academic pressures to connect with others authentically.
Rachel Toone: >Perfect closing. Thank you, Nia—truly inspiring!
