The institution is honored to introduce Dr. Todd von Helms as its inaugural Senior Fellow, reflecting the college's dedication to scholarly exploration, spiritual growth, and guiding students toward meaningful vocations through an innovative Fellows Program.

In this capacity, von Helms will partner with educators and learners while representing Montreat across diverse networks spanning educational institutions, religious organizations, and public forums. His extensive background includes over twenty years guiding adolescents and university students through roles such as educator, spiritual leader, academic administrator, and keynote presenter.
"We're thrilled to have Todd join our family," shared President Paul J. Maurer. "This Senior Fellow designation marks a pivotal moment for Montreat, underscoring our pursuit of scholarly distinction."
His academic credentials span Duke University, Southern Methodist University, Dallas Baptist University, and the University of Texas at Austin. Author of Before You Leave: For College, Career, and Eternity, he currently contributes as Senior Fellow at Southeastern Seminary, Presidential Scholar at Dallas Baptist University, and Senior Fellow at New York City's King's College. Von Helms regularly addresses campuses and congregations nationwide advocating for constructive dialogue, analytical reasoning, and strengthened religious conviction.

Introduced during the April 27 Keystone Scholarship Gala in Charlotte, von Helms' formal tenure begins May 15, 2026.
